Darin has worked in the instructional design space since 2002. He has created learning opportunities and collateral for various stakeholders, including public, non-profit, private, and international companies.
Darin is an expert using Articulate Rise and Storyline. He has administered Litmus, TalentLMS, and AllPay LMS. He has extensive experience with Blackboard (having used it since 2003) and Blackboard Ultra.
Instructional Design Portfolio
Soft-skills. These trainings were developed to provide employees and managers with skills to become better.
Communication Etiquette. This training was developed within two hours using Articulate Rise. It samples from two module templates, but also contains AI-based video created with Synthesia.
Emotional Intelligence. Based on Daniel Goleman’s book and thought leadership, this course goes over ways to understand and improve emotional intelligence.
Problem Solving. In response to a need by executive leadership, I created this course to provide step-by-step ways to approach, address, and solve problems.
Hard-skills. These trainings are based on industry standards.
Health Plan Requests. In the medical records industry, providers receive requests from health plans or third party companies. This training goes over the main types.
2020 HIPAA Annual Training. This training was developed in Articulate Storyline and provides very basic slide/content development. Most of the course I develop will include pre- and post-assessments that are helpful in reinforcing the material.
2023 HIPAA Annual Training. This was developed using Articulate Rise and expanded upon a template already present. This training is in comparison to the 2020 HIPAA Annual Training above, which showcases my evolution in the instructional design space.
Front Desk Training. Developed in Articulate Rise, this training covers the skills necessary for staffing a health information management (HIM) front desk.
